Julien Epaillard (FRA) and the 10-year-old Fringan de Vesquerie (Mylord Carthago x Diamant de Semilly) won Friday’s CSI4* 1.50m Prix A&M Sporthorses in Opglabbeek, Belgium.
With a time of 35.97 in a jump-off between eleven horse-and-rider combinations, the current world no. 12 took the top honours ahead of Marlon Modolo Zanotelli (BRA) and Katoulon (Toulon x Celano) in second in 36.06, while Jennifer Hochstaedter (LIE) and Winnetou de La Hamente Z (Winningmood x Socrate de Chivre) completed the podium in third in 36.52. Piergiorgio Bucci (ITA) and Pallieter Vd N.Ranch (Cornet Obolensky x Toulon) finished fourth in 37.29, followed by Annelies Vorsselmans (BEL) and Trezeguet (Turmalin 1202 x Chairman LS La Silla) in fifth in 37.46.
On Thursday, it was Ireland’s Niall Talbot and FTS Elliot (Cicero Z x Lancelot) that topped the CSI4* 1.50m Prix Torben Köhlbrant Sporthorses at the same venue. Stopping the clock on 64.71, the Irish duo took the win ahead of Ugo Berrittella (BEL) and Devino van’T Langeveld Z (Dayton Sitte x For Pleasure) in second in 65.17 and Alberto Marquez Galobardes (ESP) on Corazon K (Cascadello x Grosso Z) in third in 65.64, followed by Nina Mallevaey (FRA) and My Clementine (O.B.O.S. Quality 004 x Kashmir van Schuttershof) in fourth and Hasan Senturk (TUR) aboard Avant Toi (Flyinge Quite Easy 958 x Narcos II) in fifth.
