"I feel like I am a Holsteiner, even if I am a Dane," laughed Lars Bak Andersen as he enjoyed the victory in Sunday's Grand Prix of Schleswig-Holstein, presented by the Holsteiner Masters, at the Baltic Horse Show in Kiel.
The 37-year-old showjumper did his 6th show with the 10-year-old Holsteiner-gelding Carrasco (Caretino x Capitol I): "We were on a shopping trip a few weeks ago, and my Malaysian horse owners bought Carrasco and Queens Dancer," explained Bak Andersen about his new arrivals.
Cleverly, quick and very precise: That is how Bak Andersen finished on top of the Grand Prix to win 44,500 Euros - snatching the victory from Swiss rider Werner Muff by 0.42 seconds. Muff guessed it already when he came out of the ring with HH Fleur (Darco x Bon Ami); somebody might be faster.
One who tried, was Carsten-Otto Nagel on Holiday by Solitour (Contendro I x Cascavelle) who had a fast time on the expense of one rail to settle for third place.
