The Danish riders have had a fantastic weekend on home soil at the CSIO3* event in Uggerhalne. After Saturday's FEI Nations Cup victory, team member Lars Bak Andersen secured the victory in Monday’s 1.60m Grand Prix presented by Stutteri Ask riding the 13-year-old stallion Arcado L (Argentinus x Chasseur I).
"I watched Thomas Sandgaard ride, and I thought that if I wanted to be among the best riders I had to chose the same lines as him. I succeed, and it's been a really good show," said a happy winner after taking the victory by over two seconds in the jump-off.
It was a great end to the weekend, as Denmark’s Thomas Sandgaard finished third aboard the 15-year-old stallion Amarone (Arpeggio x Potsdam) behind French rider Emeric George on the 9-year-old gelding Chopin des Hayettes (Radco d'Houtveld x Nimmerdor) with only 0.07 seconds separating the two. Another home rider finished fourth; Rikke Haastrup Kristensen on Charleston K (Carinjo x Corleone) while fifth was Great Britain's William Funnell on Billy Buckingham (Billy Congo x Clover Hill).
