Lorenzo de Luca went to the top in Friday's feature class in Drachten; a CSI3* 1.50 competition with a jump-off. The Italian rider produced one of eleven clear rounds to move on to compete against the clock aboard Limestone Grey, an Irish bred 10-year-old by Try-Time.
It was Willem Greve that took an early lead on Carambole (Cassini I x Concerto II), setting the time to beat at 39.62 seconds. It did not last though, as Greve was overtaken by both his compatriot Leopold van Asten on VDL Groep Quinthago Z (Quinar x Carthago Z) who brough the time down to 38.09 seconds as well as Stephex Stables' rider de Luca who would take the win when he stopped the timers on 37.65 seconds.
