Lucy Davis and Barron (For Pleasure x Nabab de Reve) recorded yet another big win, when they went to the top in Sunday’s $350 000 Sunshine Grand Prix during the CSI5* event at Thermal. The Grand Prix counted a little over twenty in total, but with big names like Kent Farrington, Beezie Madden and McLain Ward entered - all in the world’s top ten - it was bound to become tough.
Only four of the riders in the class managed to produce clear rounds and move on to the jump-off though. Joining Davis were US riders Paris Sellon and Jonathan McRea as well as Venezuela’s Andres Rodriguez, who has been on great form lately. Sellon and McRea yet again rode clear rounds aboard Adare (Royal Bravour x Burggraaf) and Special Lux (Lux Z x Coille Mor Hill), but had to see themselves beaten by Davis and Barron that took yet another big win - bringing their five star Grand Prix victories during 2015 to a total of four.
McRea had to settle for runner-up position, a second behind on the time while Sellon took third. Andres Rodriguez and SF Ariantha (Corland x Uriantha) finished fourth after having two down in the jump-off.
