Marcus Ehning and the 11-year-old stallion Comme il faut (Cornet Obolensky x Ramiro) secured a home win in Sunday's CSI3* 1.55m DKB-Riders Tour Grand Prix in Paderborn. With his victory, Ehning strengthened his lead of the tour adding another 20 points to bring his total amount up to 58 as one leg of the series remains.
Six of the eleven riders managed to stay on a clean sheet in round two, but it was the German perfectionist Ehning that was the fastest one against the clock stopping the time on an incredible 41.12 seconds. Ehning's round had it all; speed, precision and style.
"I have had Comme il faut for two years now. He knows me well, I know him well and he has wins and placings at five-star level. Then, you know that you can do it," explained Ehning after his fantastic performance.
Almost two seconds behind Ehning followed the 19-year-old US talent Lucas Porter with the 12-year-old mare B Once Z (Baloubet du Rouet x Lavaletto), formerly seen under Katharina Offel (GER).
German riders took care of the next three ribbons to fill up the top five; Andre Thieme finished third on Conthendrix (Contendro I x Cor de la Bryere), Janne Friederike Meyer fourth on Chuck (Cassus x Ramiro's Son II) and Markus Brinkmann fifth on Pikeur Dylon (Diamant de Semilly x Carry).
