Mariano Martinez Bastida and Origi van’T Geyzeven victorious in Doha

Mariano Martinez Bastida (ESP) and the 11-year-old stallion Origi van’T Geyzeven (Thunder vd Zuuthoeve x Heureka) took Thursday’s biggest win at the CSI5* H.H. The Amir’s Sword 2025 in Doha, Qatar, topping the 1.50m class counting for the Longines Rankings Group D.

With a time of 65.17, the Spanish duo bested a field of 19 participants, taking the win ahead of Gerfried Puck (AUT) and Equitron Ornaat V (Ut Majeur de Brecey x Landetto), who had to settle for the runner-up spot in 66.48. Antoine Ermann (FRA) and Floyd des Pres (Vigo Cece x Papillon Rouge) placed third in 70.23, while Iñigo Lopez De La Osa Franco (MON) and Nacco Blue DNL (Chacco-Blue x Rock’N Roll Semilly) finished fourth in 70.53, followed by Jennifer Hochstaedter (LIE) and Golden Lady (Cassini Gold x San Patrignano Mister) in fifth in 71.38.

The second CSI5* class of the day, a 1.45m – also counting for the Longines Rankings Group D – went to Millie Allen (GBR) and Quick Diamant HR (Diamant de Semilly x Quidam de Revel). In a jump-off between 29 horse-and-rider combinations, Allen took the victory with a time of 27.57, topping a field of 42 participants. Roberto Previtali (ITA) and Hachiko (Quick Star x Toulon) placed second in 28.26, while Duarte Seabra (POR) and Van Halen Z (Vigo d’Arsouilles x Canturo) completed the podium in third in 28.72.
