After a fast eight-horse jump-off it was Germany’s Mario Stevens that ended as the winner of the CSI3* Grand Prix at the Z-Tour in Lanaken on Monday. The 1.50 class had over fifty riders in it, but only eight of them went clear in the first round as the line with the water as well as the final line with a vertical-vertical combination to an oxer close to the VIP tents caused plenty of heart ache for the competitors.

Stevens and the lovely Brooklyn (Balou du Rouet x Arpeggio) made the most out of the opportunity though and produced another amazing clear round in the jump-off, that nobody could catch. As last to go Reed Kessler did her best on Cos I Can (Olympic Lux x Harlequin du Carel), but had to settle for runner-up positon 0.13 seconds behind Stevens. Third place went to the winners of Thursday’s CSI2* Grand Prix; Katharina Offel and the beautiful Air Chin Z (Air Jordan Z x Chin Chin) that yet again were double clear.
