Brazil's Marlon Zanotelli had a great weekend at Indoor Drachten, and finished it with winning Sunday's CSI2* Grand Prix. Zanotelli also won Saturday's 1.40 Big Tour, and was second in Thursday's 1.40 Big Tour - in addition to picking up additional ribbons. For the Grand Prix, Zanotelli had partnered up with Madame Butterfly - a 12-year-old mare by Corrado I x Lavall II. Together, they could go home with the first prize of 8118 Euro after two clear rounds and the fastest time in the jump-off.
It was not much that separated him and runner-up Eric van der Vleuten, aboard his student Marta Ortega's Zigali P S (Kigali x Palfrenier), as the Dutch veteran only had 0.07 seconds down to Zanotelli. Van der Vleuten's compatriot Marc Houtzager ended third on the 9-year-old Sterrehof's Calimero (Quidam De Revel x Libero H), another 0.20 behind van der Vleuten's time.
