It was German domination in the CSI4* Grand Prix of Munich presented by Deutschen Kreditbank AG, with Maximilian Schmid on top.
Schmid was one of twelve riders moving on to the second round in this 1.60m Grand Prix, that was the concluding leg of the 2016 DKB-Riders Tour. Aboard the 10-year-old gelding Chacon (Chacco-Blue x Aventyno), Schimd took a convincing victory with 2.5 seconds down to runner-up Christian Rhomberg (AUT) on Saphyr Des Lacs (Mr. Blue x First Bride).
Third place also went to Germany, courtesy of Mario Stevens aboard Brooklyn (Balou du Rouet x Arpeggio) that was one second slower than Rhomberg. Markus Brinkmann and Pikeur Dylon (Diamant de Semilly x Carry) were the fourth and final double clear, to secure three Germans in the top five.
Saturday's Championat-winners Johan-Sebastian Gulliksen (NOR) and Charleville (Quasimodo Z x Lancelot) ended fifth as the fastest four faulters in round two.
