It was Great Britain's Jessica Mendoza and Belgium's Gudrun Patteet that were the best pair in Friday night's Venus vs Mars competition at Knokke Hippique. It was an entertaining relay class where faults were converted into additional time, with the men and women teaming up against each other - and where the first rider on each team finished the track and as that rider landed after the final fence the second rider was allowed to jump the first and start his or her round.
Nobody could match Mendoza and Patteet though who together recorded a time of 103.8 seconds. Runners-up were Switzerland's Steve Guerdat and Netherland's Marc Houtzager, while France's Simon Delestre and Belgium's Pieter Devos ended third.
