It was double French on top in Friday’s Prijs Ghelamco at Knokke Hippique, with Philippe Rozier and Penelope Leprevost claiming the top two positions in this 1.50 class. Rozier took an early lead as fourth to go in the ring, on a very fresh and bouncy Rahotep de Toscane (Quidam de Revel x Laudanum) – that saw no reason to stop jumping after finishing the track making quite a show as he danced his way out of the ring.
Nobody could catch Rozier out of the 46 riders left to go, and it was only Penelope Leprevost that came anywhere close to him finishing as runner-up on Nice Stephanie (Cardento x Ralme Z) that can always be trusted to do a great job against the clock. Third place went to Netherland’s Harrie Smolders on speed machine Regina Z (Rex Z x Savoy Hanover), while two home riders followed with Constant van Paesschen in fourth and Jerome Guery in fifth.
