Friday’s CSI3* 1.45m speed class counting for the world ranking in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain, went to Nicola Pohl and Baronescha (Verdi x Concorde).
Home rider Eduardo Álvarez Aznar took an early lead as eighth to go out of the 34 in the class, after riding an extremely neat and fast round with Seringat (Chef Rouge x Guillaume Tell) to finish in 63 seconds – a time that proved to be hard to beat.
Germany’s Nicola Pohl entered the ring late on in the class, and it was clear that she meant business. With Baronescha, Pohl flew in to the lead with a time of 62.04 seconds – pushing Álvarez Aznar down to runner-up position.
American rider Julie Welles placed third with Undercover (Luidam x Le Tot de Semilly) with a time of 66.06 seconds.
