Nicola Pohl (GER) and the 13-year-old stallion Exelero 2 (Chacco-Blue x Baloubet du Rouet) won Sunday's CSI4* 1.50m Grand Prix at the Vilamoura Champions Tour in Portugal.
Five of the fifty horse-and-rider combinations in the Grand Prix made it to the jump-off, where Pohl was the only one to deliver another clear round with a time of 47.55 seconds. Andreas Schou (DEN) and Darc de Lux (Darco x Contender) were almost ten seconds faster, but with four faults the pair had to settle for the runner-up position. Michael Pender (IRL) on HHS Fast Forward (Fortunus x Cavalier Royale), Jack Ryan (IRL) on BBS Mcgregor (Cardento 933 x Mark Twain) and Michael Whitaker (GBR) on Q Paravatti N (Quality Time TN x Indoctro) also had quicker times than Pohl but all finished on a score of four faults in the jump-off – putting them third, fourth and fifth respectively.
