Peder Fredricson and his Olympic silver medallist H&M All In (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Andiamo Z) won Friday’s Gaston Glock’s Championat at the Glock Horse Performance Center in Treffen, Austria.
The 1.50 m class over two rounds, counting for the Longines Ranking, had 41 participants in it. Anyone riding for the lion’s share of the prize money totalling 93,000 euros would have to give their all, both in the first round and in the shortened second round. No less than 15 horse-and-rider combinations cleared the track in the first round, but because only the fastest twelve moved on to the deciding round Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum (GER), Romain Duguet (SUI) and Daniel Deusser (GER) were left out.
In the second round against the clock, Marlon Modolo Zanotelli (BRA) was first to go on Celena VDL (Mr. Blue x Chin Chin) – setting off smartly to put the initial benchmark with a penalty-free round in 45.95 seconds. Eventually, the Brazilian rider’s round was good enough for third place. Marcus Ehning (GER) and Gin Chin van het Lindenhof (Chin Chin x Calido I) shaved the time down to 44.58 seconds, finishing as runners-up in the end.
But the fastest clear round came from Peder Fredricson and H&M All In. “It already felt right with All In during the first round, and everything worked out well for us in the second round too. I feel very comfortable here. It’s an excellent tournament with great sports and no-one stays hungry here either, that’s for sure. Now I’m very pleased, most of all with my horse. He had a six-month break after Rio and is fully back now. On Sunday in the Glock’s 5* Grand Prix, I will once more give everything and then maybe we’ll see each other again here!” smiled Fredricson after his win.
