After her CSI4* Big Tour Grand Prix win last Sunday, Penelope Leprevost (FRA) went on to top Thursday's CSI4* 1.50m Barceló Big Tour at the Andalucía Sunshine Tour 2024 – this time riding the 11-year-old stallion Djagger Semilly (Diamant de Semilly x Apache d'Adriers).
This was the first CSI4* Big Tour Grand Prix qualifier of the week, and it was set in the magnificent David Broome arena with 88 horse-and-rider combinations at start. With a time of 58.20 seconds, Leprevost took the win ahead of the host nation's own Mariano Martinez Bastida (ESP) and Quark de Preuilly Z (Quaprice Bois Margot x Cento) with 0.25 seconds separating the two riders.
Gilles Thomas (BEL) and Constantin 110 (Colestus x Quidam de Revel) placed third after clocking a time of 59.19 seconds, followed by El Ghali Boukaa (MAR) and Ugolino du Clos (L’Arc de Triomphe x Roi des Elfes) in fourth in 59.50 seconds. Completing the top five was Alix Ragot (FRA) and Diaz de Ush (Kapitol d'Argonne Quaprice Bois Margot Quincy).
