Saturday March 14th was the last day of the XXVI Sunshine Tour, after the Corvid-19 pandemic led to the early closure of this year’s event in order to protect the riders and everyone involved. Over the course of the day there were numerous classes, including the CSI3* 1.50m Grand Prix sponsored by Suzuki. The French Olympian Penélope Leprevost and her marvellous Vancouver de Lanlore (Toulon x Le Tot de Semilly) took home the Grand Prix win with the fastest time in the jump-off; 39.91 seconds.
With 17 riders through to the jump-off, it was Germany’s Guido Klatte with Qinghai (Quidam de Revel x Cordalme) that took the runner-up position behind Leprevost while the third spot went to the Brazilian rider Stephan Barcha on Artois D’Avillon (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Steducar). Riccardo Pisano (ITA) on Chaclot (Chacco Blue x Fly High) placed fourth, while the fifth place went to Laurent Goffinet (FRA) on Atome des Etisses (Mylord Carthago x Quidam de Revel).
