The 2023-edition of Stockholm International Horse Show in the Swedish capital got a fairytale finish when Petronella Andersson (SWE) and Odina van Klapscheut (I Am Moerhoeve's Star x Landor S, bred by Bvba Mivaro) took the top honours in Sunday's CSI4* 1.55m Grand Prix.
With a time of 36.48 in the jump-off between six horse-and-rider-combinations, Andersson took a popular home win ahead of Harrie Smolders (NED) and Deesse de Kerglenn (Mylord Carthago x Crusador, bred by E.A.R.L. Alain Richar) in second in 36.68 and Peder Fredricson (SWE) and Hansson WL (Hip Hop x Iowa, bred by Walltorps Lantbruks AB) in third in 38.95.
"It was a great victory today," Andersson commented to World of Showjumping. "My horse was fantastic, she really had my back today. And the crowd has been unreal all week, so it was great to give them back a Swedish victory."
With a fence down in 37.32, Nicola Philippaerts (BEL) and H&M Luna van'T Ruytershof Z (Levisto Z x For Pleasure, bred by Stal 'T Ruytershof) finished fourth, while four faults in 37.66 left Scott Brash (GBR) and Hello Mr President (Comme d'Api v/d Hacienda x unknown, bred by Bvba Euro Equitation) in the fifth spot.
