Sanne Thijssen (NED) and the 18-year-old stallion Con Quidam RB (Quinar Z x Cardino) took the top honours in Friday's CSI4* 1.50m Big Tour Ayto. De Barbara Trophy at the Andalucía Sunshine Tour in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain.
Besting a field of 87 horse-and-rider combinations in this Grand Prix qualifier counting for the Longines Ranking Group D, Thijssen and her veteran partner were the fastest over the 1.50m track when stopping the clock at 60.16 seconds – a time no one could match. Closest came Michael Pender (IRL) and HHS Fortune (Catoki x Douglas) who crossed the timers in 61.76 seconds to take the runner-up spot. Eduardo Alvarez Aznar (ESP) and D'orient Batilly’s (Numero Uno x Quaprice Bois Margot Quincy) time of 63.20 seconds was good enough for third, followed by Alberto Marquez Galobardes (ESP) and Kelly (Kannanx Baloubet du Rouet) in fourth, and Pedro Veniss (BRA) aboard Nimrod de Muze Imperio Egipcio (Nabab de Reve x Tinka's Boy) in fifth.
