Michael Viehweg (GER) and the 12-year-old stallion Contario (Contendro I x Caridor Z) won Saturday’s CSI4* 1.50m Stephex Prize at Zangersheide International in Opglabbeek, Belgium.
Twelve pairs from the 52 at start cleared their way into the deciding jump-off, where Viehweg and Contario were the fastest, clocking the winning time of 35.72. The hosts’ Sacha Beghuin and Elcup Van Beek II Z (Elvis Ter Putte x Armitage) took the runner-up spot in 35.94, followed by Jeroen Appelen (BEL) and Quincy 230 (Quintender 2 x Lando) in third in 36.19, Viktor Daem (BEL) on Kavaliers Blue (VDL Zirocco Blue x Lancelot) in fourth in 36.97 and Joy Lammers (NED) aboard First Boy B.B. (Hamlet x Ustinov) in fifth in 37.60.
