The second week of H.H. The Father Amir's Prix at Al Shaqab in Doha, Qatar – a part of the Doha Equestrian Tour 2026 – concluded on Saturday with the CSI5* 1.60m Grand Prix, where the current world number two, Great Britain’s 2024 Olympic team gold medallist Scott Brash and the 17-year-old gelding Hello Jefferson (Cooper van de Heffinck x Irco Mena) bested a field of 38 horse-and-rider combinations.
In a jump-off of nine, Brash and his Olympic mount Hello Jefferson clocked the winning time of 42.66 in the competition counting for the Longines Rankings Group AA, taking the top honours ahead of Megane Moissonnier (FRA) and Crooner Tame (Conrad x Quaprice Boimargot Quincy) in second in 42.78 and Eve Jobs (USA) aboard Canto Bruno (Cantoblanco x Quality 9) in third in 43.42.
Janakabhorn Karunayadhaj (THA) and Maxwin Kinmar Bespoke (O-Piloth x Aganix du Seigneur) finished fourth with a time of 44.52, followed by Anastasia Nielsen (MON) aboard ESI Rocky (Stakkato Gold x For Pleasure) in fifth in 45.09.
“Hello Jefferson is an incredible horse," Scott Brash said in a press release from H.H. The Father Amir's Prix. "He’s 17 now, but he still feels like a young horse — he loves his job, and he’s always jumped well here in Doha in the main arena.”
The second five-star competition of the day, a CSI5* 1.50m counting for the Longines Rankings Group D, went to Harry Charles (GBR) and Bandit (Obos Quality 004 x Cruisings Micky Finn). With a time of 35.10 in the second phase, the 2024 Olympic team gold medalist took the win ahead of Millie Allen (GBR) and Quick Diamant HR (Diamant de Semilly x Quidam de Revel) in second in 35.41, while Roberto Previtali (ITA) aboard I’M Special Mess PS (I’M Special de Muze x Messenger) completed the podium in third with a time of 36.16.
