Great Britain's Scott Brash and the 13-year-old Hello Shelby (Stolzenberg x For Pleasure) topped Saturday's CSI5* 1.50m Prix GL Events at the 2022-edition of Saut Hermès in Paris.

Stopping the clock on 60.50 seconds, Brash was the fastest of the 37 horse-and-rider combinations that took part in the class. Jérôme Guery (BEL) on Grupo Prom Diego (Verdi TN x Gran Corrado) took the runner-up position with a time of 60.98 seconds, while Marcus Ehning (GER) on Calanda 42 (Calido I x Chasseur) placed third after crossing the finish line in 61.91 seconds. Olivier Philippaerts (BEL) on Mr. Idol S (Plot Blue x Darco) took the fourth place, while fifth went to current world number one Peder Fredricson (SWE) on H&M Crusader Ice (Cabachon x Corland).

"It is a tight ring, so it was a bit of a tricky class," Brash told World of Showjumping after his win. "Everything comes on you very fast in this arena and therefore it is an advantage if you have a horse that is quick across the jump. I think I started quite positively with Shelby, so I would say I won it in the beginning of the round, from fence one to three."

"Shelby is a great partner," Brash said about his winning mount. "He tries hard and he is a very quick horse, so when you are going against the clock he is naturally very fast. He has won a lot of classes, he has been very good for me."

Speaking of the venue in Paris, Brash said: "The organisers have done an incredible job, for a temporary building the venue is fantastic and having such a big crowd in here gives a nice atmosphere."

On Saturday morning, Laura Klein (FRA) and Cattleya Plassay (Ogano Sitte x Ideal de la Loge) won the CSIU25 1.45m Les Talents Hermès. Gilles Thomas (BEL) on Jetric van Beek Z (Jivago d'Arsouilles x Vagabond de la Pomme) took the runner-up position, while Antoine Ermann (FRA) on Azur du Vinnebus (Robin du Vinnebus x Flipper d'Elle) finished third.
