Patrice Delaveau and Aquila HDC (Ovidius x Bollvorm´s Lauriston) made it a home win in Friday's feature class in Dinard, the CSI5* 1.55m Prix Suez.

Ten of the 33 riders in this speed class went clear, and it was home hero Patrice Delaveau that clinched the victory with a time of 74.83 seconds followed by his compatriot Thierry Rozier in 75.76 seconds with his student Electra Narchios’s mare Venezia d’Ecaussinnes (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Lys de Darmen).

"I am very happy. My horse jumped super and he liked the course. He had a good time, and me too!" said Delaveau after his win.

Rozier was perhaps beaten, but still delighted: "I am really happy, super motivated by the whole atmosphere. Actually I am impressed with this result, especially with this mare that was competing in the amateur classes last year. Since the beginning of the season, I did everything possible to be selected for this show in Dinard."

Third in the Prix Suez was Portugal's Luciana Diniz on Lennox (Lifestyle x Grannus), stopping the clock on 76.80 seconds. USA's Beezie Madden finished fourth and Brazil's Cassio Rivetti fifth.

Earlier in the day, Catherine Tyree won the 1.45m Prix du Conseil Départemantal d'Ille et Vilaine. Eleven out of the pairs on the start list cleared the course, but the fastest – in 69.10 seconds – was the 23-year-old American rider aboard Bokai (Up To Date x Ferro). "I have been riding him for just a year, he is very careful and brave. He does everything he can to win," said Tyree afterwards.

With a time of 69.58, riding Vahiné de Biéville (Robin II Z x Le Tot de Semilly), home rider Margaux Rocuet was in the lead for a long time but had to settle for second place. Third place went to her compatriot Patrice Delaveau aboard Urcos de Kerglenn HDC (Toulon x Diamant de Semilly).
