Brazil’s Stephan de Freitas Barcha and the 15-year-old mare Chevaux Primavera Imperio Egipcio (Calvaro F.C. x Paroli) won the CSI4* 1.55m Diputacíon de Cádiz Grand Prix in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain, where the seventh week of Andalucía Sunshine Tour 2026 concluded on Sunday.
Only five pairs from the 49 horse-and-rider combinations at start cleared the first-round and joined the deciding jump-off, where the Brazilian duo clocked the winning time of 44.30 seconds. As the second double clear of the competition, Ireland’s Niamh McEvoy and Olympic ‘GL’ ‘FVD’ had to settle for the runner-up spot in 44.97, while four penalties in a time of 45.88 left Julio Arias Cueva (ESP) and Filou du Manoir (Salto de I’Isle x Grenat de Grez) to third.
With eight penalties each in the jump-off, Sameh El Dahan (GBR) on Oscar-A (Harley x Cardento) and Jason Foley (IRL) aboard Chedington Hazy Toulana (Toulon x Indorado) completed the top five in fourth and fifth respectively.
