Steve Guerdat (SUI) was the best in Friday night's CSI4* 1.50m Championat of Ommen powered by Boehringer Ingelheim and Nijwa. Riding the 9-year-old mare Ulysse Des Forets (Col Canto x Le Tot de Semilly), the 2012 Olympic Champion beat a field of 63 riders in this Longines Ranking class.
Fifteen riders managed to produce clears in the first round, and moved on to the jump-off where twelve againg repeated their clean sheets. Fastest of all however was Guerdat, who stopped the clock at 38.78 seconds.
Two home riders followed in second and third: Willem Greve continued his good form aboard Carambole N.O.P. (San Patrignano Cassini x Concerto 4) finishing the jump-off in 39.02 seconds while Bart Bles and Lord Sandro Ddh (Lordanos x Sandro) crossed the finish line in 39.34 seconds. Julia Kasyer (AUT) ended fourth, and Lennard De Boer (NED) fifth.
Earlier in the day, Peder Fredricson (SWE) won the 1.45m two-phase class counting for the Longines Ranking riding H&M Carat Desire (Carinjo x Latus II). Home rider Frank Schuttert finished second, and Fredricson's stable rider Stephanie Holmén (SWE) third.
