Luciana Diniz won the Longines Grand Prix at CSI Basel for a second time in her career, when she went to the top in the 330'000 Swiss Francs competition on Sunday afternoon. Riding Fit for Fun (For Pleasure x Fabriano), Diniz left Brazil's Marlon Modolo Zanotelli on Extra van Essene (Diamant de Semilly x Gotthardsen) and Great Britain's Scott Brash on Hello Sanctos (Quasimodo v. Molendreef x Nabab de Reve) behind her in second and third.
In a five horse jump-off, Luciana turned out 68 hundredths seconds faster than runner-up Zanotelli with her Hanoverian mare. Scott Brash was also clear in the jump-off, but over a second behind Diniz on the time. Gregory Wathelet and Conrad de Hus (Con Air x Locato) had by far the fastest time in the jump-off, but had the last fence down and had to settle for fourth place this time around. Fifth went to Piergiorgio Bucci on Casallo Z (Casall x Carthago Z), who had twelve faults in the jump-off.
