This week, the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour’s spring edition continues with its second part of competition – the Spring MET II. Starting on the 5th of February and running until the 24th, Spring MET II includes three weeks of competition in total. The first two weeks of competition are at CSI2* level and the last week concludes the Spring MET II with classes at CSI3* level. Each week also offers classes for young horses at the age of five, six and seven.

The three weeks of jumping include nine classes counting for the Longines Ranking, three held each week, with a total prize money of 436,500 Euros.

Some of the best horses and riders in the world will yet again join the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour. With seven riders from the world ranking’s top 50, there will be three weeks of intense competition to look forward to.

The Mediterranean Equestrian Tour is very happy to welcome the current world number one and the winner of the 2018 Rolex IJRC Top Ten Final, Switzerland’s Steve Guerdat, Italy’s Alberto Zorzi, Belgium’s Nicola and Olivier Philippaerts and their younger brothers Anthony and Thibault. Great Britain’s Scott Brash, the team Olympic gold medallist from London 2012 and winner of the Rolex Grand Slam of Showjumping is joining the Tour again, along with his compatriot Ben Maher, who won the Longines Global Champions Tour’s overall ranking last season, becoming the LGCT Champion of Champions for 2018. Among the total of approximately 1000 horses and over 240 riders from 36 different nations are also MET friends such as Julien Epaillard (FRA), Constant van Paesschen (BEL) and Sheik Ali Al Thani and Bassem Mohammed (QAT).

Following Spring MET II, the Tour continues with MET III in March and MET IV in April.
