Edited press release from Longines Global Champions Tour
On the first day of the Longines Global Champions Tour of Monaco, it was Denis Lynch (IRL) and Cornets Iberio (Cornet Obolensky x Charlottenshof Iberio) who turned it up a gear to win the 1.45m Federation Equestre de la Principauté de Monaco.
Lynch and Cornets Iberio clocked a time of 57.31 seconds, pipping Francisco José Mesquita Musa (BRA) and Catch Me Marathon (Contagio x Werther) to the post by less than half a second. Richard Howley (IRL) and Mansini Ltd (Caressini L x Marramas) took an early lead, but had to settle for third place overall.
Speaking of tonight’s success, Denis sang the praises of his equine partner – saying: "Connor is a really competitive horse, he’s won all around the world and he likes to go quick, and he really tried again tonight."
