Brazil's Pedro Veniss took the win in Sunday's King's College Trophy in Madrid with the 11-year-old stallion Rissoa d'Ag Bois Margot (Quaprice Boimargot Quincy x Artichaut), after a fast paced competition. It was a great opener for the day after yesterday's Grand Prix of Madrid, with 18 riders taking to the grass arena for the early morning 1.45 class. It was a gallop against the clock, which produced fantastic action and sporting pace, with time added for any fences knocked down.

The first horses and riders set a precedent with the times getting faster and faster. Romain Duguet and Cacharel (Coltaire Z x Libertino) came a close second, finishing on a time of 59.79s. Max Kühner and Electric Touch (Untouchable Z x Voltaire) were in third place with 61.43s and Laura Kraut and Andretti S (Corland x Animo) came in fourth, following an unlucky fence down. But it was Pedro who jumped clear and fast, galloping the course but carefully positioning Rissoa d'Ag Bois Margot to maximise the horse's natural scope. They crossed the line in an impressive 58.62s, taking home the lion's share of the twenty-five thousand euro prize purse.
