As two legs remain of the 2016 Longines Global Champions Tour season, Rolf-Göran Bengtsson (SWE) has taken the overall lead of the series.
Bengtsson has collected a total of 272 points, and has a margin of five points down to Edwina Tops-Alexander (AUS). Rank three is Christian Ahlmann (GER) with 232 points, while Bertram Allen (IRL) has 217 points and sits in rank four. Harrie Smolders (NED), today's winner in Rome, has collected a total of 200 points and is rank five.
“Casall jumped very good again - with a horse like that you get spoiled; we were 5th today and you think it wasn’t the best but we were still very very good. I rode too deep to number one and couldn’t make the stride down to the second fence. But I’m happy, we jumped three times clear again. We have two legs remaining and anything can happen," said the ranking leader after today's Grand Prix in Rome.
