The Longines Global Champions Tour of Miami Beach continued to raise the bar on day two, delivering an electrifying afternoon of world-class sport set against the unmistakable backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean. Sold-out crowds were treated to a thrilling CSI5* 1.50m Prix Barnes, where speed and nerves of steel defined the competition.

Germany’s Sophie Hinners and Iron Dames Combella (Cornet du Lys x Indoctro) produced a flawless double clear, stopping the clock in a blistering 33.16 seconds in the jump-off of twelve.

Speaking after her win, Sophie said: “I'm so pleased with Iron Dames Combella - she’s incredibly consistent at this level. It was a tough class today and we really had to fight for the win, but to come out on top here in such a great venue in Miami makes it even more special. She actually comes from the Sweetnam family, so it’s really nice to see Olivia Sweetnam finish third today as well.”

Close behind, Brazil’s Eduardo Pereira de Menezes delivered a textbook performance with H5 Kontador VDM (Eldorado vd Zeshoek x For Pleasure). Producing a smooth and efficient round, he crossed the finish line in 33.71 seconds to take a well-earned second place.

Continuing her strong run of form this week, the USA’s young talent Olivia Sweetnam secured third place aboard Epic (Billy Mexico x Flyinge Electro) with a time of 34.25 seconds, further cementing her status as one of the rising stars of the sport.

The depth of competition was evident throughout the class, with Canada’s Erynn Ballard on Her Game Ball BG (Carambole x Burggraaf NV) finishing fourth, followed by Belgium’s Pieter Devos aboard Panamarenka van den Blauwaert (For Passion d’Ive Z x I’M Moerhoeve’s Star) in fifth.
