Belgium's Abdel Said and the 13-year-old mare Arpege du Ru (Apache d'Adriers x Quat'Sous) topped Thursday's CSIO5* 1.50m presented by Trikem as the 2023-edition of Falsterbo Horse Show kicked off in the south of Sweden.
With a time of 62.52 seconds, Said and Arpege du Ru were the fastest pair in the 1.50m Table A against the clock – which served as the first qualifier to Sunday's Longines Grand Prix. Nicola Philippaerts (BEL) and the 9-year-old Klaartje Z (Kannan x Flipper D’Elle*HN*) took the runner-up position when the clock stopped on 63.65, while the host nation's Jens Fredricson (SWE) and Diarado's Rose Elith (Diarado x Cardento) placed third in 63.80. Giampiero Garofalo (ITA) and Gaspahr (Berlin x Otangelo) finished fourth in 63.96, followed by Emanuele Camilli (ITA) in fifth in 64.82 aboard Chaccrouet (Chacco-Blue x Baloubet du Rouet).
