Elian Baumann (SUI) and the 11-year-old gelding Little Lumpi E (Lordanos x Polydor) won Saturday's biggest class in Sopot, the CSIO5* 1.50m Prize of Lotto under the patronage of Wirtualna Polska.
Ten of the 44 horse-and-rider combinations in this class – which counted for the world ranking – moved on to the jump-off after producing clear rounds, and against the clock Baumann was the fastest with a time of 41.83 seconds. Henrik von Eckermann (SWE) and Nababette Z (Nabab de Reve x Gasper) took the runner-up spot after stopping the clock at 43.49 seconds, while third place went to Niklaus Schurtenberger (SUI) and C-Steffra (Clarimo x Lavall I) with a time of 43.64 in the jump-off. Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann (GER) finished fourth with Chesmu KJ (Cornet Obolensky x Calido I), and Darragh Kenny (IRL) fifth with Carthano (Cartani x Heraldik XX).
Earlier in the day, Denis Lynch (IRL) and GC Chopin's Bushi (Contendro II x Nairobi) took the top honours in the CSIO5* 1.45m Prize of Sopot Marriott Resort & Spa under the patronage of Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship Mieczysław Struka & Trójmiasto.pl. Only two riders managed to jump clear rounds, and fastest of them was Lynch in 63.39 seconds, leaving Adam Nicpon (POL) to the second place with Zero Z (Zirocco Blue x Caritano Z) in 74.44. Aboard Nobel vd Bisschop (Gemini CL XX x Berlin), Darragh Kenny (IRL) took the third place with four faults and a time of 68.02 seconds.
