The action kicked off at Dublin Horse Show on Wednesday, with the highlight being the CSIO5* 1.60m Sport Ireland Classic – a class counting for the Longines Ranking, and also a qualifier for Sunday's Longines International Grand Prix of Ireland.

Ten out of the 42 horse-and-rider combinations at start jumped clear, and it was Ireland's own Paul O'Shea and Skara Glen's Machu Picchu (Silverstone x Matterhorn) that were the quickest when taking home the win with a time of 66.54 seconds. Julien Gonin (FRA) and Valou du Lys (Calvaro F.C. x Galoubet A) took the runner-up position when the clock stopped on 68.67, while Kevin Staut (FRA) and Bond Jamesbond de Hay (Diamant de Semilly x Kannan) placed third with a clear round in 70.35 seconds. Billy Twomey (IRL) and Vagabon des Forets (Corofino 2 x Richebourg) took the fourth place, while Harrie Smolders (NED) and Darry Lou (Otangelo x Nabab de Reve) ended fifth.

Earlier during the day, Michael Pender secured another home win with HHS Fortune (Catoki x Douglas) in the CSIO5* 1.45m Speed Stakes. The Irish dominated the class, with Jordan Coyle (IRL) and Picador (Lupicor x Concorde) taking the runner-up position, followed by Denis Lynch (IRL) on GC Chopin's Bushi (Contendro II x Nairobi) in third, Daniel Coyle (IRL) on KEC Dorian (K.E.C. Maximum Joe x Aldatus Z) in fourth and Commandant Geoff Curran (IRL) on MHS Gabhran (Cardento x Diamant de Semilly) in fifth.

The CSIO5* 1.45m Minerva Stakes sponsored by Manton Grange Stables also went to a home rider as Richard Howley and Fame (Harley x Investment) took the top honours. William Whitaker (GBR) placed second on Jalellah OL (Chacco-Blue x Baloubet du Rouet), Nayel Nassar (EGY) on El Conde (Loro Piana Filou de Muze x Final Shot) third, Jordan Coyle (IRL) on Eristov (Cicero Z x Concorde) fourth and Shane Breen (IRL) on Haya (Mylord Carthago x For Pleasure) fifth. Both 1.45m classes – the Speed Stakes and the Minerva Stakes – were qualifiers for Sunday's 1.50m Speed Championship.
