Ireland's Shane Breen won Sunday's feature class at Dublin Horse Show, the CSIO5* €350,000 Longines International Grand Prix of Ireland.
Riding Ipswich van de Wolfsakker (Carembar de Muze x Quick Star), Breen delivered one of only three double clear performances in this 1.60m class beating Scott Brash (GBR) and Hello Jefferson (Cooper v. Heffinck x Irco Mena) by 0.48 seconds in round two of the competition against the clock. Lorenzo De Luca (ITA) and Dinky Toy v. Kranenburg (Ugano Sitte x Kimball) took the third place, 3.26 seconds behind the winning time.
Fastest in the second round was Susan Fitzpatrick (IRL) on Fellow Castlefield (Je T'Aime Flamenco x Twister), but with four faults the pair had to settle for fourth place. Richard Howley (IRL) made it a good day for the Irish as the third rider representing the hosts in the top five, ending fifth with Chinook (Tygo x Wellington) – also he on four faults.
