Mark McAuley (IRL) took a popular home win in Saturday's CSIO5* 1.50m Longines Dublin Speed Stakes.
Riding Utchan de Belheme (Calvaro x Mr Blue), McAuley left Thursday's winners McLain Ward (USA) and Noche de Ronda (Quintender x Loves Corinth) behind him by 0.81 seconds. Steve Guerdat (SUI) and Alamo (Ukato x Equador) ended third, 0.9 behind the winning time. The Irish riders came strong in force, with Shane Breen ending fourth and Bertram Allen fifth.
The 1.45m The Royal Dublin Society Stakes by Theraplate Ireland also had an Irish rider on top as Elizabeth Power and Doonaveeragh O One (High Roller x Diamond Lad) brought home the victory. Angelie von Essen (SWE) ended second with Tiger (Cardento 933 x Stanford), while McLain Ward (USA) and Up des Chaines (Ideal de la Loge x Cento) came in third.
