The happy winner Lucy Davis had this to say about her victory: "I think I had a little bit of luck, which you always need to have, but I think most importantly I have an incredible horse with a huge stride and also very careful. So I am able to go to the last fence and just drop the reins and kick and that might have made the difference today!”
Daniel Deusser, who was second, got the question if it was luck that gave Davis the win: "I don't know if you can call it luck, I think she was just faster than all the rest. I'm very happy with my second place. My horse is in a super form he jumped double clear in the Nations Cup and he jumped double clear today and for my feeling I had a very good jump-off – I was just a little bit slower."
The question for third placed Marcus Ehning was if he was disappointed: "No not at all. I'm older than these two and it is normal that I'm slower," he laughed. "I'm really happy with my horse because he is not really experienced at this level so I'm very proud and happy with him."
