The 2025 European Champion Richard Vogel (GER) and the 9-year-old Gangster Montdesir (Kannan x Cornet Obolensky) won Thursday’s CSIO5* 1.50m RCPB Cup at the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona as the 113th edition of CSIO Barcelona kicked off.

The highlight of the day at the venue that this weekend hosts the Longines League of Nations™ Final was the RCPB Cup, a competition judged as a Table A against the clock. Vogel delivered as the last to enter the ring – and the fastest to complete the course without penalties. Riding Gangster Montdesir, Vogel crossed the finish line in 69.57 seconds, edging out fellow German Sandra Auffarth on Comcador ODL (Comme Il Faut x Duke of Hearts) by just twelve hundredths of a second.

Italy’s Giulia Martinengo Marquet took third with Coynor (Canstakko x Toulon), clocking in at 70.02 seconds. Spain’s Carlos Bosch Cebrian finished fourth aboard Jolie van der Berghoeve Kar (Jaguar vd Berghoeve x Kannan), followed by Alex Matz (USA) and Ikigai (Elvis Ter Putte x Iroko) in fifth.
