Germany’s Richard Vogel – 2025 European Champion and current world no. four – and the 9-year-old Gangster Montdesir (Kannan x Cornet Obolensky) continued their winning ways in Barcelona, Spain, on Friday, topping the CSIO5* 1.45m La Vanguardia Trophy. The duo also took the top honours in Thursday's CSIO5* 1.50m RCPB Cup.
With a time of 64.70 seconds, the German rider bested a field of 45 horse-and-rider combinations, taking the win at the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona ahead of the host nation’s Alberto Marquez Galobardes and Corazon K (Cascadello x Grosso Z) in second in 72.65.
Olivier Perreau (FRA) and Himalaya du Temple (Toulon x Radieux) placed third with a time of 73.23, followed by Megane Moissonnier (FRA) on Kandoo Z (Kannan x Level Z) in fourth in 73.69 and Alfons Roquet Puignero (ESP) aboard Sandro Eclipse (Sandro’s Boy Z x Vechta) in fifth in 73.96.
