Saturday’s biggest class at CSIO4* Warsaw Jumping – a 1.50m competition with a jump-off – was won by Switzerland’s Alain Jufer with Dante MM (Diarado x Luxius), while Edouard Schmitz and Quno (Quo Vados I x Cashandcarry) secured their second victory of the weekend when taking the top honours in Saturday’s 1.45m speed and handiness class.
Only five horse-and-rider combinations cleared the first round in the 1.50m class, presented by PKO Bank Polski, and in the jump-off Jufer crossed the finish line in 39.02 seconds – 1.5 second faster than runner-up Piergiorgio Bucci (ITA) with Naiade d’Elsendam Z (Nabab de Reve x Quattro B). Third place went to Lars Bak Andersen (DEN) with Bartholomaeus (San Patrignano Corrado x Caletto II). Wojciech Wojcianiec (POL) crossed the finish line in the shortest time – 37.67 sec – but with four faults he had to settle for fourth place. Fifth place went to Dawid Kubiak (POL) with Szuler (Luron x Kissovo).
In the 1.45m class, presented by Totalizator Sportowo, Schmitz took the win ahead of home rider Jaroslaw Skrzyczynski (POL) with Olimpic Star (Olympic Fire x Levisto). Third place once again went to Lars Bak Andersen (DEN) – this time riding Ethene (San Patrignano Corrado x Cayado 3) – while Sophie Hinners (GER) with Galanda Mara TH (Lexicon x Animo) finished fourth ahead of Marek Lewicki (POL) with La Pezi (Lord Pezi Junior x Ludwig von Bayern).
