This week, the 2021 Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ Series Europe Division 1 continues with its second leg in La Baule, France. Europe Division 1 has been cut down to only four legs this season, after cancellations in Falsterbo, Hickstead and Dublin.
Eight teams from Europe Division 1 will participate in the Nations Cup: Belgium, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland. In addition, Brazil and Mexico will field teams.
The best horses and riders in the world will compete in the nine classes of the CSIO5* Longines International Jumping of La Baule. The Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup™ (Friday 11th June, 2.00pm) and the Grand Prix Longines of the City of La Baule (Sunday 13th June, 1.00pm) will also be qualifiers for Tokyo, the 2021 European Championships and the 2022 World Equestrian Games.
Riders on the entry list include world no. two and three Steve Guerdat and Martin Fuchs (SUI), as well as big names such as Scott Brash (GBR), John Whitaker (GBR), Harrie Smolders (NED), Pieter Devos (BEL) and Cian O'Connor (IRL). The hosts come strong in force of course, with Penelope Leprevost, Roger Yves Bost, Kevin Staut and Nicolas Delmotte among the many top names on the entry list.
