It was double Swiss on top in Friday's CSIO5* Longines Grand Prix in St. Gallen, with world no. one Steve Guerdat riding Venard de Cerisy (Open Up Semilly x Djalisco du Guet) to victory followed by Arthur Gustavo da Silva on Inonstop van't Voorhof (Nonstop x Fortuin Z) in runner-up position.
The Swiss were on great form, filling 5th, 6th and 7th place as well – courtesy of Alain Jufer with Cornet MM (Cornet Obolensky x Gralshueter), Bryan Balsiger with Clouzot de Lassus (Ugano Sitte x Tenor Manciais) and Barbara Schnieper with Cicero (Check In x Polling).
The twelve best of the 41 riders in this 1.60m Grand Prix moved on to the second round, where Guerdat was the fastest – taking home the win after a clear second round in 47.62 seconds. Arthur Gustavo da Silva followed in 48.03, while the last clear in round two came from Great Britain's Laura Renwick on Dublin V (Calvados x Sable Rose) with a time of 49.47 seconds which put them in third place. France's Penelope Leprevost ended fourth on Vancouver de Lanlore (Toulon x Le Tot de Semilly), after recording four faults in the second round.
