Longines FEI European Championships 2021

On Tuesday 31st of August, 75 jumping horses lined up for the first veterinary inspection for the Longines FEI European Championships 2021 at Riesenbeck International in Hörstel, Germany. The Longines FEI European Championships 2021 kick off tomorrow, with the first qualifier – a Table C competition.

The horses were presented by country at today’s veterinary inspection, with Austria going first and Turkey last – and all 75 passed. It will only be Maurice Tebbel’s Don Diarado that possibly will do his trot-up tomorrow morning for the German team; the stallion was not shown today due to what is suspected to be a hoof abscess.

This afternoon, there will be a training session in the main arena.

With this photo special, we take a closer look at today's veterinary inspection – first out is Mathieu Billot (FRA) and Quel Filou, a pair that also represented France at the Olympic Games in Tokyo earlier this month. The two took time for a small cuddle before it all gets serious in Riesenbeck.
