It was an extremely emotional win for Brazil’s Yuri Mansur in Sunday morning’s CSIO5* 1.45m Mystic Rose Prize at CHIO Aachen 2025. With the title-sponsor of the class being Haras Rosa Mystica – the breeder of Mansur’s former top horse Miss Blue Saint-Blue Farm [born Miss Blue Mystic Rose], who very sadly passed away at the end of June – there were a lot of tears at the prize giving for the Brazilian rider.
Aboard the 10-year-old mare Clariquada T (Clarimo x Coronado), Mansur took a determined and early lead in the Mystic Rose Prize when setting the time to beat to 68.83 seconds at Soers. “It was a long course, and delicate enough. I took my risk in the beginning; I thought I should make time where I could. I took a risk and when it works out, it is great,” Mansur said teary-eyed to World of Showjumping, unable to talk much more amid all the emotions that were surfacing.
Kevin Jochems (NED) came closest to Mansur, but had to settle for second with Prada di Costa M (Vannan x Gitano) with a time of 68.94. Rene Dittmer (GER) completed the podium as the best of the home riders, riding Echo vh Gerendal Z (Echo van T Spieveld x Jodokus) to a time of 71.50 seconds.
