With only four left to go in Sunday's 1.45m SAP Prize at CHIO Aachen, Felix Hassmann (GER) snatched the win home to the hosts.
Riding the 14-year-old SL Brazonado (SL Baluarte x Silvestre), Hassmann took all the risk around the track but still allowed himself a quick check before the final oxer to shave the time down to 57.72 seconds. With his performance, Hassmann pushed Doron Kuipers (NED) and Empire (Chacco-Blue x Quattro) down to runner-up position with a margin of 0.49 seconds. Eduardo Menezes (BRA) finished third with Ennebel van het Posthuijs (Numero Uno x Argentinus) in a time of 59.31 seconds, while Marcus Ehning (GER) and Calanda 42 (Calido I x Chasseur I) ended fourth and Jan Wernke (GER) and Queen Mary 10 (Contendro I x Caretino 2) fifth – securing three home riders within the top five.
