Rolex Grand Slam 2014 Aachen
Kent Farrington was very happy with his horse and his first time competing at the CSIO Aachen after his second place in the Rolex Grand Prix . All photos (c) Jenny Abrahamsson.
Lucy Davis and her flying partner Barron had an amazing weekend in Aachen. In the Grand Prix they ended sixth.
Ludger Beerbaum and Chiara had one pole down in the second round, finally placed as number eight.
Marcus Ehning and superstar Plot Blue ended third and delivered a strong application for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Normandy.
Margie Engle and Royce had four faults in the second round and was placed as number elleven.
Marco Kutscher and Liberty Son produced a super first round in Aachen. Unfortunately one pole fell towards the end of the course.
Paul Estermann and Castlefield Eclipse rode a beautiful first round, but things did not work put in the second round.
The flying combinations on everybodys lips at the moment. Meredith-Michaels-Beerbaum and Fibonacci once again impressed.
Pieter Devos and Dream of India Greenfied retired during the first round.
The final score for Pius Schwizer and Toulago was 12 faults already after the first round.
One pole fell for Penelope Leprevost and Nayana in the first round.
Reed Kessler and Cylana impressed in the Nations Cup and were ready to fight also in the Grand Prix. The young American rider was thus a little disappointed with their eight faults already in the first round.
Scott Brash and Hello Sanctos are normally on top fighting for victory, but in the Grand Prix they had unusual eight faults in the first round.
Also Sergio Alvarez Moya and Carlo finished the Grand Prix with eight faults.
Shane Breen was the only Irish rider in the Grand Prix aboard Confident of Victory
Steve Guerdat and Nino des Buissonnets qualified for the second round as the fastest four faulter from the first round.
