Mario Stevens and his seven year old Fairmont E (Ferragamo x Rockwell) were first to go in Friday's Sparkasse Youngster Cup at CHIO Aachen and kept the lead throughout the class. The Sparkasse Youngster Cup was open for seven and eight year olds and had 37 participants.
As many as 21 horse and rider combinations went clear over the course so it was really a matter of speed to end up placed in the class.
Stevens ended the class with a time of 62,92 seconds and was more than 2,5 seconds faster than Felix Hassmann with Horse Gym's Balance (Balou du Rouet x Landadel). Third place went to Christian Ahlmann with Casuality Z (Cassini III x Chellano Z), securing an all German podium. Fourth place went to Brazil's Marlon Modolo Zanotelli with Icarus (Querlybet Hero x Skippy).
