Major Tom is a big-framed horse with an impressive competition track record. He covers a lot of ground with his supple canter, and combines a massive jump with a bold attitude, so height is never a problem for him. At the video shoot everyone was amazed to see him jump a maximum height course of jumps with ease. He’s also an easy ride. It only takes the finest of aids to navigate this light-mouthed horse around a course of jumps. He certainly knows how to inspire his rider!

Major Tom is the product of an interesting mix of some of the best jumping genes in the world. Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve by Narcos II x Laudanum was Roelof Bril’s top Grand Prix horse and, as a sire, he always passes on his positive qualities, attitude and talent to his offspring. Maya d’Arsouilles’ dam line produced international sport horse Corvette 2 G Z (Alexander Klumps), Gaillardo d’Arsouilles (Geoffrey Geerts) and Compte D’Arsouilles (Alexandr Onyshenko).

Quasimodo van de Molendreef competed internationally with David Jobertie and Jaime Azcarraga. He jumped at Grand Prix level and won several Grand Prix classes. Quasimodo’s most famous son is Hello Sanctos, the horse that held the top spot in the show jumping world rankings for a long time.

This impressive-looking gelding’s competition career has already got off to an amazing start with wins in foreign classes up to 1.30m. He also won classes at last year’s Belgian Young Horse Championships. His performance at the Italian Championships for Young Jumping Horses was equally inspiring, with everything pointing towards a great career in top-level show jumping. Major Tom jumped all five challenging courses in spectacular fashion, attracting the attention all the equestrians at the event. Next stop: the international circuit.

Major Tom is a championship horse - because quality never goes out of fashion.
