During the Longines Global Champions Tour in Doha, Ludger Beerbaum sustained a fracture to his thigh and was hospitalized. It was during Thursday’s 1.45m class that Beerbaum’s horse Christians Carado stumbled, and parted ways with his rider.  "It went well," Beerbaum said in a press release about the operation that was carried out at the local hospital to stabilize the thigh with a plate and a screw.

Meanwhile, Beerbaum’s stable jockeys Philipp Weishaupt and Christian Kukuk dominated in Doha, winning the first leg of the 2023 Global Champions League followed by Weishaupt’s victory in the LGCT Grand Prix.

"Without words guys! Please enjoy the moment!", Ludger Beerbaum told Weishaupt and Kukuk from the hospital bed.

At World of Showjumping, we wish Ludger a quick recovery!
