Richard Vogel’s Cydello (Cascadello x Forsyth FRH) has been sold. The 11-year-old gelding will in the future be competing with Vogel’s compatriot Katrin Eckermann, who rides for the Iron Dames equestrian team that has acquired another top horse to strengthen its impressive squad further. Iron Dames has two teams in the Global Champions League this year, and Eckermann is part of the Cannes Stars powered by Iron Dames.
"I'm happy to confirm that Iron Dames Cydello has joined my stables,” Eckermann told World of Showjumping. “I'm very grateful to Deborah Mayer for giving me the opportunity to continue developing at the top level of the sport. Cydello has already achieved some impressive results with Richard Vogel, and I'm excited about what the future holds with him."
Vogel got the ride on Cydello in August 2023 and the two have been hugely successful during their time together. In their last outing together in February this year, Vogel and Cydello won a CSI4* 1.60m Grand Prix at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, USA, less than a month after having topped a CSI3* 1.55m Grand Prix at the same venue.
Last year, the pair also won a CSI3* 1.55m Grand Prix at the Winter Equestrian Festival, as well as a CSI5* 1.55m class in Mexico City, and a CSIO3* 1.60m Grand Prix in Mannheim.
